We at Pediatrics South stongly endorse universal immunization.  Childhood immunization is one of the most important health interventions and is responsible for preventing up to 3 million deaths of children in each year world-wide.

  We, however, understand that many parents have concerns regarding vaccine safety. We encourage parents to become educated regarding  risks and benefits of vaccines and we are happy to provide reliable resources which they can use for this purpose. We are happy to discuss parents' concerns, and we will work with them to provide vaccines in ways that they feel are satisfactory.

  If a parent still chooses not to immunize their child, we will continue to provide the highest quality of pediatric care.  We will, however, request that parents sign a form documenting their refusal to vaccinate and confirm that they have been fully informed of the risks of remaining unimmunized.  We will also continue to maintain a dialogue regarding immunizations in future visits.
